The brothers Mohammad and Hamoud Asaad al Mustafa were kidnapped on June 14 by unknown gunmen in al Sh-heil city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate. On June 16, locals found their bodies bearing signs of gunshot wounds in al Takihi village which is administratively a part of al Bseira city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR has been unable to identify the party responsible for their death up to the time of writing. Although the controlling factions bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, the SDF has not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the operation.
