Image published on internet on Friday, June 5, 2020, showing the burning of vast areas of agricultural lands in al Taman’a town in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate which was controlled by Syrian regime forces on August 30, 2019. Local activists told SNHR that this image was taken by their relatives in June and it is among group of images and videos showing the burning of tens of hectares of agricultural lands and fields of pistachio trees when a fire whose origin is unknown broke out. SNHR has been unable to identify the cause of fire up to the time of writing. Although the controlling forces, in this case the Syrian regime, bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, the regime has not launched any investigation into the blaze, which resulted in severe damage to land and properties.
