SNHR: members affiliated with the Syrian National Army raided Ma’malou village which is administratively a part of Arin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, on May 15, 2020. SNHR documented the arrest of six civilians who were taken to an undisclosed location.

SNHR notes that no members of their families were informed of their arrest, with their phones being confiscated, preventing them from contacting their families or lawyers. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of those detained by the regime. SNHR assures that about 3,045 Syrian citizens are still detained in factions of the armed opposition’s detention centers, constituting a grave threat to their wellbeing given the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
