Ali Hasan Sheikh Muhammad, born in 1977, from Raqqa city, was arrested on July 6, 2015, by Syrian Democratic forces at Marash Binar crossing in in Ein Arab city in the eastern suburbs of the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, while he was travelling along with other civilian through the crossing to Turkey. Since then, Ali was enforced to disappear as it was not allowed for anyone to visit him to know his fate even a lawyer. At the beginning of May 2020, his family received information confirming his death due to torture in a detention center of Syrian Democratic forces at the end of July 2015. SNHR confirms that Syrian Democratic forces didn’t hand over his corpse to his family which is a popular practice of Syrian Democratic forces in their detentions centers for the most majority of dead persons inside the centers where any person whose corpse was not handed over is deemed as forcibly disappeared person.
