The death of the civilian Saleh al Mar’i, from Ma’aret al Na’san village, in the northern suburbs of Idlib governorate, in a shooting by members of Hay’at Tahrir al Sham on protesters against the opening of commercial crossing by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham linking areas under its control and areas controlled by Syrian regime forces in Ma’aret al Na’san village, on April 30, 2020. Additionally, a car affiliated with them intended to run over protesters to disperse them. As a result, five civilians were injured. We note that Hay’at Tahrir al Sham suspended the opening decision at the same day.
SNHR assured the necessity of closing the all crossing between all areas as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in particular with Syrian regime’s areas as they are considered as vulnerable areas where the military and commercial movement is continuing with Iran, a COVID- 19 pandemic country.
