Muhammad Aaqeb Hammam Tannou, from Darat Ezza city in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was arrested in October 2019, by members affiliated with Hay’at Tahrir al Sham- he aged 19 at the time of the arrest-. On April 20, 2020, his family received information states that Hay’at Tahrir al Sham executed him by firing squad in a detention center for blasphemy. Then, they informed his family to take his corpse from Idlib National Hospital.
SNHR notes that the killing in this manner deems a blatant violation of the International Humanitarian Law and considers as an unlawful killing as the execution took place without a fair trial but according to beliefs of Hay’at Tahrir al Sham extremist group.
