Civilian death toll during one year since the start of the escalation of Syrian- Russian alliance in northwest Syria

SNHR documented the deaths of at least 1,808 civilians, including 509 children and 312 women, at the hands of Syrian- Russian alliance forces in Idlib area in northwest Syria between April 1, 2019, and April 11, 2020, distributed as follows:

– Syrian regime forces: 1,237 civilians, including 340 children and 202 women, distributed as follows:

  • Idlib governorate: 997 civilians, including 289 children and 164 women.
  • Hama governorate: 133 civilians, including 21 children and 20 women.
  • Aleppo governorate: 107 civilians, including 30 children and 18 women.

– Russian forces: 571 civilians, including 169 children and 110 women, distributed as follows:

  • Idlib governorate: 418 civilians, including 113 children and 77 women.
  • Hama governorate: 40 civilians, including 8 children and 14 women.
  • Aleppo governorate: 113 civilians, including 48 children and 19 women.
